Judith Stuyvesant Winthrop was the daughter of Peter Stuyvesant (B.1727) and Margaret Livingston (Daughter of Gilbert Livingston). She married Benjamin Withrop.
Her father, Peter was one of the 4 sons of Gerardus and Judith Stuyvesant and the only son that left descendants. Peter Stuyvesant and Margaret Livingston had 2 sons: Peter Gerard and Nicholas William, and 3 daughters: Judith (who married Benjamin Winthrop, Cornelia (who married Dirck Ten Broeck) and Elizabeth (who married Colonel Nicholas Fish b 1758-d 1833). Elizabeth became the mother of Hamilton Fish.
Judith's brother Peter Gerards' son Peter G. Stuyvesant was born in New York City in 1778 and died at Niagara Falls, New York on August 16, 1847. He was a graduate of Columbia in 1794, and practiced law in New York City. He was a founder and president 1836-1840 of the New York Historical Society. His residence, "Petersfield" and that of his brother, Nicholas William, "the Bowery House" were built before the Revolution, and were situated on thier father's Bouwerie Farm. Present day Bowery section of New York City. In 1888, the chief portion of this property was still in possession of his descendants, Hamilton Fish, Benjamin R. Winthrop, and Lewis Morris Rutherfurd (the astronomer) father of Rutherfurd Stuyvesant.
