  • ***This is from DNA relative (4th cousin) Nicola Edwards. Mary O'Connor Born 1851 - Spouse Matthew Cahill Corn 1837, Daughter Nora Cahill 1868-1934.
    • It appears that Mary O'Connor was possibly Julia O'Connor's sister.

Hi Stephanie Thanks so much for replying. Ok, Nora Cahill was born about 1868. I've put dob for Mary Connor as 1851 - that was just an estimate. I got Mary as her mother off a baptism record showing father as Matthew Cahill and mother as Mary Connor. My dad's cousin told me Nora left Ireland for New York as they were trying to marry her off to a neighbour's son. She then became a housekeeper to a doctor and met my great grandad approx. 10 years later in Liverpool. Julia Cahill was a witness on their marriage cert. That's pretty much all I know about them. I only had my dna results back this week. My paternal Nan was Nora's youngest daughter and the only Irish link I have. I was quite surprised at my results - 48% Ireland/Scotland/Wales narrowed to Munster region and Kerry! My e-mail is nicola.edwards73@virgin.net Like you say, we're related and its just working out how. I'm so excited as it's been so hard to find anything out. Nicola

From DNA relative Catherine Casey from County Kerry FB group: I meant to get in touch with you previously about Julia O Connor who married Jeremiah Coffey in 1884. The civil record for her marriage on Irish Genealogy list her father as Daniel Connor of Lyranes, Glencar. Also there is a baptism record for a Julia with a father Daniel and mother Mary Jones in Lyranes in the Church Records in 1862. She died in 1898 and her age listed as 34. This is supported by 1901 census record which reports spouse 'Jerry' as widower.
