About Julian H. Preisler
Family historian, professional researcher, author, archivist and genealogist. I've been working on my own family tree for 25 years and have made great progress with now almost 3000 people in my tree. As the child of Holocaust Survivors I never thought I would be able to one day know so much about my family. My family history consists of Jewish, Catholic & Protestant branches and come from the Czech Republic, Central Poland and Lower Silesia (formerly Germany and now Poland). I'm fascinated with synagogues, their history and architecture and have made it a special task to document former synagogues both in cities and small towns in the USA. I also am currently researching and creating a growing list of Holocaust memorials and museums located in North and Central America. I have authored five books: The Synagogues of Central & Western Pennsylvania: A Visual Journey; Jewish West Virginia; Historic Synagogues of Philadelphia & The Delaware Valley; Pioneer American Synagogues; and Jewish Cemeteries of the Delmarva Peninsula. For ten years I was the archivist for the Jewish Historical Society of Delaware. I have three "full" trees online and am hoping to gradually add names to my tree on Geni.
