About Julius Henry Dent-Young

Joined "A" Company 1st Battalion 14th London Regiment in 1915 as Private 4124, was wounded at Hulluch in September 1915 and rejoined his regiment In January. Killed on the first day of the Somme (1st July 1916).

(Hulluch indicates that his injury might have been on the 25th September during the "Big Push" of the Battle of Loos. The 1/14th made a frontal attack against heavy fire.)

Listed on the Thiepval Memorial (suggesting his body was never identified)
