About Julius Kettle
Julius Kettle (1926 - 2009)
Brief overview:
Julius (83), and his wife Marie (80), were attacked on their smallholding in Byenespoort outside Cullinan, on Friday 31st July 2009 at 11h00. Two criminals invaded their home, and tied up Julius's hands and feet with wire and stuffed a cloth in his mouth. He suffocated, and the autopsy also showed that Julius had suffered a heart attack.
The attackers left Marie sitting in the living room while they drank cold drinks and ransacked the house. When she tried to get away one of the men saw her, and tied her up with the wire of a mobile phone. She lay there for a long time until it was quiet. She managed to untie herself and walked with her walking frame to the neighbours, who eventually arrived home at 17h00, and they called the police.
Police spokesperson, Johannes Jaftha, said the men took the couple's mobile phones, other household goods and a firearm.
