About Julius Rokotnitz

Pathen oder zeugen on birth of Dr. Markus's son Moritz Rokotnitz in 1868: Julius Rokotnitz (b. 1837), probable oldest son of Dr. Markus Rokotnitz (who was born ~1805).

"Oberjäger Julius Rokotnitz, who had already distinguished in Wysokow, distinguished himself in the battle of Königgrätz forth gloriously by helped by cold-blooded, prudent management of his train and its well-mounted fire that the enemy, although the upper hand and by the terrain favors, but was able to advance only slowly. Rokotnitz was wounded in the left foot, but struggled nonetheless continue with perseverance and defiance of death, until he fell down due to incapacitating blood loss and was captured. He was taken to the hospital to Hofic and should be discharged on Prussian territory, but sprang from the escort during the march in the woods of Miletin; probably sent the Prussians the refugees a hail of bullets after, but succeeded in the same to escape the enemies. Without any help and only on the support of compatriots instructed Rokotnitz knew how to handle the ball eußischen troops and reached under great hardships after 7 days at Vienna his comrades." -- From Episoden aus den Kämpfen der k. k.
