Justus Goebel, Sr. (1860 - April 11, 1919) of Covington, Kentucky was a Kentucky delegate to 1912 Democratic National Convention. He was president of Lowry & Goebel.
Biography
He was born on July 1, 1857 in Pennsylvania to Wilhelm Goebel and Augusta Groenkle. He had brothers, William J. Goebel and Arthur Goebel.
He married Elizabeth and they had the following children: Lieutenant Justus Goebel II; Captain William Goebel, who both served in the American Expeditionary Forces; and Lillie Goebel Heusch, of Columbus, Ohio.
His brother died in 1900 and in 1901 Justus was indicted for bribery. In 1910 he moved to near Phoenix, Arizona for his health.
He was a delegate to Democratic National Convention from Kentucky in 1912. He died on April 11, 1919.
