K.D. "Snick" Knickerbocker

He was the first born to Claude and Selma. He enlisted in the army during WW2. He was captured by the Germans in Libia. He spent years in a POW camp before being liberated by the Americans. He died in Fort Harrison Hospital at Helena, Montana, He is buried in Shelby, Montana next to his mother and father.

His real name is Dexter Kennedy Knickerbocker. He hated the name, Dexter. He was called Snick since childhood. He signed everything K.D. Knickerbocker. Even as he son I didn't know his real name was Dexter until years after his death.

When Kennedy Dexter Knickerbocker was born on November 14, 1916, in Carpio, North Dakota, his father, Claude, was 24 and his mother, Selma, was 19. He married Lois Marie Baker and they had two children together. He then married Bettye Miloux on November 10, 1956, in Shelby, Montana. He died on August 3, 1970, in Helena, Montana, at the age of 53, and was buried in Shelby, Montana.
