About Kanthi Siva

Eldest child of three girls born of late Vinayakasundaram and late Saradambal. Lived in Delhi from 1964 to 1999. Have a son and a daughter, two grandsons through daughter and a grandson and a grand daughter through son.

She breathed her last on May 15, 2011 at Hyderabad, where she was staying with her son Krishnaswamy.

Time is flying fast. The first anniversary of the sad demise of Delhi Madhini has come so soon. On this occasion I wish to recall the Tamil poem titled ‘Delhi Chithi’ penned by Nagaraj as ‘varun’ on 18th May 2011. For those who are not well versed with Tamil, I have made an attempt in translation as a novice which I hope has not diluted the original sentiments / feelings expressed by Nagaraj

                                                   '''“Delhi Chithi”'''''

Annapoorani sivasankaran – just 69 years , we lost her day- before- yesterday

Few thoughts from everv green memory

‘Kanna…’, ‘Kannamma…’ were her affectionate way of calling Raja and Sachu

When Raja came to Dubai for the first time she advised him with concern to ‘take care’ , ‘keep in touch’

What we saw and heard when we were in Hyderabad yesterday

Raja and Vinu have taken the best care of her. To care for and serve one’s parents till the last, both mental conern / agility and monetary facility / stability are essential. The family balance gets upset in case there is deficiency in either one.

Chithi was lucky to have good son, daughter-in-law and lovable / loving grand sons and grand daughter. When Nidhi wasasked what she spoke last, her reply was “bye”

As if it was her “final bye” for her trip to the heavenly abode “ unseen by those who are alive ” and “unheard of from those who has seen it (after their death)”

It is said that one’s grief reduces with intake of spice and salt. Wonder how it is going to work on Chithappa ? How difficult it is to contain one’s grief within and act otherwise outwardly?

Life turns torturous for a wife after her husband’s death, but it is worse for a husband after his wife’s demise.

Hope Almighty will show Chithappa a recovery path perhaps through internet an e-mail

Chithi’s 69 years is not a ripe age? Wish she lived for another twenty years

What is in our hand? It’s all His wish. I am sure she’ll bless us wherever she is.
