Kenneth, 81, of Fulton died Thursday at his home. He was the son of Max and Lena (Garity) Hughes in Kalamo.
Kenny worked for nearly 50 years at Michigan Carton and also worked on his own farm.
He married Janice Gibson on May 23, 1951. Janice survives him as does his sons, David (Janet) Hughes, Donald (Kim) Hughes, all of Battle Creek, Darryl (Leasa) Hughes of Burlington; daughter, Debbie Price of Fulton; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Margie) Hughes of Nashville, Jerry (Janet) Hughes of Assyria; sister, Laura Ormsbee of Bellevue; sisters-in-law, Joann Hughes of Delton and Bev Hughes of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ray Hughes and Bernie Hughes and long time canine companion, Peanut.
Kenneth enjoyed participating (and winning) horse-pulling competitions and skidding logs. He also participated in the Bicentennial wagon train in 1976. Kenny was known for his storytelling and had a personality bigger than life.
No services were scheduled.
