About Kenneth Oscar Langevin

Kenneth Oscar Langevin Born on October 28, 1928, in Naicam, Saskatchewan, the son of Sophie and Henry Langevin, Ken passed away November 18, 2007 in Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Ken is survived by his wife, Yvonne Langevin of Surrey, B.C., brother Ralph Langevin of Trail, son Gordon Langevin (Jan) of Port Coquitlam, daughter Terri Van Rysell (Chuck) of Maple Ridge, son Brian Langevin (Christine) of Edmonton, stepsons: Jason Phillips of Calgary, Jeramie Phillips of Aldergrove, and Nathaniel Pelletier of Calgary; daughter-in-law Diana Pelletier, and his seven grandchildren (in order of ages): Tyler Langevin, Dallas Langevin, Nikki Van Ryssel, Mandy Van Ryssel, Jordon Langevin, Myhrsades Pelletier, and Zach Langevin, along with many nieces and nephews. Although Ken lived most of his life on the west coast, he had many friends across Canada. Many of us will remember him driving happily across Canada and the States in his 18-wheeler, listening to his trucking tunes, talking on the CB. He had many good memories of the friends he made the hours spent with his sons on the road, eating at truck stops, sleeping in his cab, and passing each other on the highway. I can remember many a holiday visiting those same truck stops, checking to see who might be in town. He was a man known for his laughter and loyalty to friends. He loved to play jokes on people, and so he was also the receiver of many jokes as well. He was a treasure, a million times more valuable than the ones some people spend a lifetime trying to find. He was someone whom anyone would be privileged to know. He was not only a fantastic friend; he was a tremendous, rare and extraordinary person, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and husband. He will be missed by all who knew him. This world is a better place because he walked through it - please remember him in your hearts. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 1st from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at his son Gord and Jan Langevin's home at 2421 Glenwood Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Carberry's Funeral Home (250-364-1211).
