Kenneth A. Rowe

Kenneth Augustus Rowe (31) was the 8th child (Earl, Charles, Clarence, Merton, Flora, Leslie, Lottie, Kenneth, Clara and May) of Percy Augustus Rowe and Florence May Knowles. Growing up Kenneth first lived in Humboldt Co, Iowa and when he was a year old the family moved to Lake Park, Iowa. When he was 14 they moved to Kirksville, MO. A

On May 10, 1925 in Kirksville, MO he married Edith Marie Watson, dau. of Eva Vaughn and William Watson. They farmed three years, then returned to Lake Park to assist his brother, Leslie in a service station. Next he moved his family to Marshall, MN in 1935 when Doris was about 7 yrs. old where he worked for Arnold Motor Supply Company.

The Christmas when Doris was 9 and Dale was 5 they were left them with Leslie and Hazel Rowe in Lake Park, Iowa, because Kenneth had to work and then they were to go to a Christmas party and on to Lake Park, Iowa. On the way to the party Dec. 24th, they had a car accident in Worthington, MN. After that Doris and Wayne went to be with Charles and Grace Rowe.

Children: 1. Betty Lou Rowe b. Kirksville, MO at home. Lived 3-4 weeks. Buried at the Sabbath Home Cemetery outside of Kirksville, MO . Her mom, Edith had the flu and the baby caught it and died. No funeral, but the Pastor helped them bury her. Percy went over to help out at that time.
