About Kevin Charles ROBERSON
GEDCOM Note
Kevin died as a toddler in a scalding accident. Carol remembers the incident: Their mother and some other women were butchering chickens. To removed the feathers, the chickens were dipped in scalding hot water. The large kettle of scalding water was sitting on the floor in the small pantry where they were working. Kevin wandered into the pantry, unseen by the ladies and fell into the pot of scalding hot water. Our mother had taken a first aid class and immediately plunged him under cold running tap water. Dr Gjerde was called out from Lake City. He came immediately to the farm and sent Kevin to Rochester hospital for treatment, but Kevin died a few days later of the severe burns. Carol (age 5 1/2) and Gary (age 4) were allowed to attend Kevin's funeral (at the Zumbro Falls Methodist church), which was somewhat unusual in those days. Their Dad tried to explain that Kevin's body would be there in the casket, but Kevin had gone to heaven. The whole thing was very mysterious to Carol and Gary, but they understood that Kevin was gone.
