Research Notes
Keziah is sometimes confused with Keziah Sias, the wife of Rev. Samuel Lane (1736-1812), who was the brother of Dutton Lane. However, the best available source, a letter from the grand niece of Samuel, Keziah (Greenland) Shanafelt, states that Keziah Sias was the wife of Samuel.<ref>
Keziah (Greenland) Shanafelt of Clarion County, PA, letter dated 19 Jun 1858 to her son, Thomas Shanafelt. The letter is in the possession of Laurel Shanafelt Powell of Colorado. Transcription at Diana, Goddess of the Hunt — for Ancestors! (online, accessed 7 March 2024), entry for Nicholas Shanafelt and Keziah Greenland.

Also, Frederick V. Schultz's A Reminiscence Sung 1559-1999 states that Dutton did indeed marry a woman named Kezia/Keziah/Kesiah, but her birth surname is unknown.
