She was bo rn Abt. 1793 in Edgecombe County NC, and died 1848 in Edgecombe County NC. He married (2) ELIZABETH GILL September 17, 1849. She was born Abt. 1810,and died Aft. 1880 in Wilson Co., NC. Notes for KITCHEN EDWARDS: 1. Simon Edwards & Sally Dowden are the parents of Kinchen Edwards(1788 to 1851). The internet sources that say that Randolph Edwardsis thefather are wrong. Randolph was Kinchen's brother. 2. In March 1848 Kinchen Edwards appeared before the Court of Pleasand Quarter Sessions of Edgecombe County to place a claim to receivea pension due his mother (when she was alive) as a widow of a Rev olutionaryWar veteran. Source is Revolutionary War Pension File R3264, kindlygiven to me by Helen Sharpe. This file contains the following information: Kinchen Edwards states that he is the son of Simon Edwards andSally Dowden, and that he is 60 years old (as of 1 MAR 1848). Kinchen and his brothers Benjamin and Levi are the only surviving children. Will for Kinchen Edwards Jan. 30, 1847. May Ct., 1851. Wife: RACHEL, I lend during life the whole 382 A plantation on Town Creek, known as Charles Land's tract, 6 negroes, household and kitchen furniture, 2 horses, 3 cows, ca lves, 3 ewes and lambs, her choice of all stock, Brandy still, cider and brandy casks, cart and wheels, riding gig and harness and year's provision. Son: RANDOLPH, I lend 541 A on the N side of Tar Ri ver; reversion to child; Son: (?) MOSES, I lend other half of tract of land on N sideof Tar River, half of which is lent to my son RANDOLPH, and 3 negroes.3 gr sons: HILLIARD,REDDING, and SION A. DAW SON, sons of my dau, NELLY, to have 293 A track known as the EDWIN MOORE land, adjoining landsof JACOB ROBBINS and WILLIAM W.
