Mr Klas Albin Klasén, 18, was born Jul 17 1893 the son of Klas Viktor and Johanna Mathilda Carlsson, Grimshult, Fliseryd, Småland, Sweden. Klasén was probably living with his parents, he was travelling with his 1½ year old sister Gertrud Emilia. They were emigrating to the USA and gained their emigration certificates on 22 March 1912. They boarded the Titanic at Southampton as third class passengers.
In the White Star list it says he came from "Grimhall Sweden" and also that he was going to Los Angeles. Klasén travelled from Grimshult but the destination Los Angeles is a bit doubtful because this is also the destination of Klasén, Mrs Hulda Kristina and Veström, Miss Hulda Amanda Adolfina however, it is possible all four were on their way to Los Angeles.
Brother and sister died in the sinking, their bodies were never recovered.
The Mansion House Fund paid 1787.52 Kr (£98) to their parents. 1822 Kr (£100) damage claims paid to father 2 June 1914.
