Margaret Lindsay was the daughter of Alexander Lindsay of Auchtermonzie, 7th Earl of Crawford and Isobel Campbell.,
She married James Ogilvy, 3rd Lord Ogilvy of Airlie, son of Sir John Ogilvy, 2nd Lord Ogilvy of Airlie and Jean Graham.
She was also known as Isobel.
Her married name became Ogilvy. As a result of her marriage, Margaret Lindsay was styled as Lady Ogilvy.
