About Laja Rachman
GEDCOM Note
Rationale for connecting Ester Malka Rachman to Mendel Gurfinkel and Chaja Fajga (grandparents): Ester Malka's 1858 MR indicates Fayga Gurfinkel, her grandmother, was present during the registration. Since her paternal grandmother would carry the Rachman surname, it could only be that Fayga was her maternal grandmother, married to a Gurfinkel. The Mendel-Chaja Fajga couple met the criteria for being Ester Malka's grandparents. Additionally, there is a 1844 DR for Laja Rachman (Karczew) which not only indicates she was a widow (Ester Malka's parents were deceased at the time of her marriage), but also indicates she was the daughter of Mendel and Fayga.
