Jag har fått mitt material om släkten både från egen forskning på 70-talet men också den forskning som gjorts av min morbror Roland Rahn som bodde i Skara och avled 2016. Utöver det har andra släktträd som krokats på.

Det som kan vara viktigt att veta är att jag har genen cystisk fibros i mig men är enbart bärare medan min ena son har cystisk fibros. Eftersom vi har det så finns cystisk fibros i släkten eftersom den enbart kan ärvas genom generna som vi kombinerar ihop. Både mamma och pappa behöver ha genen cystisk fibros för att barnen ska ha möjlighet att få genen. Jag tänkte att detta är intressant i de sammankopplade släktträden vilket också kommer att visa sig att andra i denna gen- sammansättning har detta.

CF beror på att det för länge sedan uppstod en mutation (förändring i ett arvsanlag) hos en individ i nordvästra Europa. Mutationen leder till att en transportör av klorid och bikarbonat inte fungerar. Eftersom varje anlag finns i dubbel uppsättning så gör det inget att ett av dessa är felaktigt. Ungefär var 30:e individ i Sverige är anlagsbärare för CF och att anlaget är så vanligt beror sannolikt på att bärare av genen är en fördel för dem som har det i enkel uppsättning.

Dubbla anlag av mutationen ger däremot sjuk­domen CF.

Jag kan se att vi har en hög medelålder i släkten samtidigt som jag antar att en del också dör tidigt. Orsaken till det senare vet jag inte alls men CF kan vara en del av detta.

What may be important to know is that I have the cystic fibrosis gene in me but is only carrier while my son has cystic fibrosis. Because we have, cystic fibrosis exists in the family because it can only be inherited by the genes we combine. Both mom and dad need the cystic fibrosis gene to allow the children to have the gene. I thought that this is interesting in the interconnected family tree, which will also prove that others in this genetic composition have this.

CF is due to the fact that long ago there was a mutation (change in inheritance) of an individual in northwestern Europe. The mutation causes a carrier of chloride and bicarbonate to not work. Since each plant is in a double set, it does not matter that one of these is incorrect. Approximately every 30th individual in Sweden is a captain of CF and that the plant is so common, it is likely that carrier of the gene is an advantage for those who have it in simple form.

Difficulty of the mutation, on the contrary, causes the CF disease.

I can see that we have a high average age in the family while I suppose some also die early. The reason for the latter I do not know at all but CF can be a part of this.
