Obituary for Laura Bridget Fahey Nangle:
MASON CITY - Mrs. Laura B. Nangle, 86, of 1115 Crestmore Way, died Saturday (May 3, 1986) at a Mason City nursing home.
She was born May 26, 1899, in Ackley, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Halloran) Fahey. She graduated in 1917 from Sacred Heart School, Ackley, and later graduated from Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught school in Franklin and Hardin counties.
On Oct. 25, 1927, she married Elmer M. Nangle in Ackley. He died in 1963.
Mrs. Nangle was a Mason City resident for 59 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a church circle, and the Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 302 5th SE, Mason City, with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation is after 4 this afternoon at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 125 3rd NE, Mason City, where a scriptural rosary will be said at 7 tonight.
Mrs. Nangle is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Mary Pat) Staley, Dayton, Ohio; a son, Thomas M. Nangle, Mason City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Laura B. Nangle of Mason City passed away Saturday, May 3 at Americana Nursing Home in Mason City.
She was born May 26, 1899 in Ackley, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Halloran) Fahey. She graduated in 1917 from Sacred Heart School in Ackley and later attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught school many years in Hardin and Franklin Counties.
On October 25, 1927, she married Elmer M. Nangle in Ackley.
Funeral services were held in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City.

FAHEY-NANGLE WEDDING
EVENT THAT OCCURRED EARLY FRIDAY MORNING LAST.
Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church, occurred the marriage of Miss Laura Fahey, daughter of Thomas Fahey of this city, to Mr. Elmer Nangle, of Mason City. The bride wore georgette and a tulle veil, and carried a bouquet of roses and baby's breath. Miss Fahey had as her attendant Miss Bertha Mae Marin of George, Iowa, as maid of honor, who wore a rose satin and black velvet dress, gold-lace hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses, and the Misses Anne Lawler of this city, and Agnes Burns, of Mason City, bridesmaids, the former wearing a tea georgette dress, gold-lace hat, carrying a bouquet of gold chrysanthemums; the latter in a sherbet georgette and black velvet dress, gold lace hat and carrying gold chrysanthemums. The bride was met at the altar by the groom who was attended by the bride's brother, Mr. Floyd Fahey of Iowa City. During the mass Mrs. Harley G. Weber, of Mason City, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Haley E. Shaffer of Nevada, sang "I Love You Truly," "At Dawning" and "Ave Maria." After the ceremony a ten o'clock breakfast was served at the bride's home. Four nieces of the bride, Mary and Dorothy Parden of Iowa City, Anna Mae and Francis Keninger of this city, acted as waitresses.
The out of town guests were Mrs. Pauline Nangle, mother of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Harley G. Weber and Miss Agnes Burns of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Parden and family, Miss Theodora Ronayne and Mr. Floyd Fahey of Iowa City, Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Martin, daughter Miss Bertha Mae and grand-daughter Mary Maxine of George, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Hally E. Shaffer and daughter Marvyl of Nevada.
Mr. and Mrs. Nangle left on a wedding trip to Chicago, after which they will be at home in Mason City, where Mr. Nangle is employed by the Rock Island railroad company.

Ackley, la., Oct. 26.—The marriage of Miss Laura B. Fahey, daughter of Thomas Fahey of this city, and Elmer Nangle, son of Mrs. Pauline Nangle, Mason City, was solemnized Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic church here by the pastor, Rev. Thomas Fitzgerald.
The bridal party included Miss Bertha Mae Martin, George, la., a niece of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Anna Lawler, Ackley, and Miss Agnes Burns, Mason City, as bridesmaids. The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her eldest brother, John.
Awaiting the bride and her attendants at the altar were the bridegroom and his best man, Floyd Fahey, Iowa City, the bride's brother. A program of nuptial music was sung by Mrs. Harley Weber, Mason City, with accompaniment by Mrs. Holley Shaffer, Nevada.
The bride's costume was of white georgette and her bouquet of roses and gypsophilia.
Breakfast was served at the Fahey home by four nieces of the bride: Mary and Dorothy Parden, Iowa City, and Anna Mae and Frances Kenninger, Ackley.
Mr. and Mrs. Nangle will reside at Mason City, where Mr. Nangle is employed by the Rock Island railway company, after a trip to Chicago.
Out of town guests were: Mrs. Pauline Nangle, mother of the bridegroom; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Weber, Miss Agnes Burns, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. James Parden and family, Miss Theodora Romayne, Floyd Fahey, Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Sam A. AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin on Way Home to George, Ia.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Martin, who had visited in Ackley last week, stopped at Mason City on their way home to George, Ia., and visited a day in the Elmer Nangle home. They were unfortunate enough on Thursday, while driving, to collide with a truck driven by Ben Wiseman, Marble Rock, at the corner of Pennsylvania avenue and Fifth street S.W. Sam Martin was driving the car, which overturned when struck. Mrs. Nangle [Laura Bridget Fahey Nangle] and Mrs. Sam Martin [Ligouri Julia Fahey Martin], more badly injured than the rest of the group, were cared for at Mercy hospital. Other occupants were badly shaken up and Mr. Martin received cuts on the head.
