Obituary- Portsmouth Times - Jun. 4, 1949:

Mrs. Agnes Lavina Ruel, 80, died at Portsmouth General Hospital at 10:30 p.m. Friday. Death followed a lingering illness of 6 months, the last two weeks of which had been spent in the hospital. Mrs. Ruel was born March 22, 1869, at Marshall, W.Va., a daughter of Andrew and Ann Gill. She was united in marriage to William Ruel and he preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cressie Harrigan, 1222 Grandview ave.,Mrs. Mae Yeager, 2311 Grant st; two sisters, Mrs. Jospehine Osborne of Smithfield, W.Va., Mrs. Malissa Vickafoosenf Faust; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Mrs. Ruel was a member of First Nazarene Church. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Dachler Funeral Home with Rev. Miles Simmons in charge. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
