My proper name is Lucius but ever since I was 4 years old, I've been called Bill.. Subsequent to my childhood days, I retired as a professional Naval Officer, other engineering work and now, I am trying to become an amateur genealogist.

 Anyway, I have now been getting along in age for almost 88 years and along with my wife Bette, genealogy has become a thing to help keep me stay young. Since my grandmother Stella Riggs told me that her father had been a Civil War veteran and that she had been advised by "snail mail" to research her ancestors more deeply, she thought that some of the family had been connected with royalty. So, after her passing and thanks to the onset of the computer age, I have become very interested in historical fact and stories. Without too much effort but with the help of Geni, the Riggs line developed into a connection to the Howard family of King Henry VIII's  era and that his Queen Catherine Howard was actually one of my ancestors.
