Lee Jackson Watkins, 79, was born in Burke County, N.C., Jan. 28, 1927. He died at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, with his beloved family by his side.
Better known as Lee Bob, he was the son of Mary Caroline "Mamie" Cannon Watkins and Melvin Milton Watkins.
Lee was a World War II veteran of Italy, and was also a Korean Conflict veteran stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C. He moved to Paducah in 1952, and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1989 after 21 years.
Lee was a member of Local Plumbers and Steamfitters Union 184. a 50-year member of the Grahamville Masonic Lodge 707, member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 5 Esther, Shrine Temple/Madisonville dual membership of the Scottish and New York Rite, West Kentucky Scottish Rite Club, Paducah.
Lee was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church since 1957, was a member of Paducah Lodge 127 Life Member since 1953, Concord Lions Club Charter Member, Boy Scouts of America Four Rivers Council Silver Beaver Award, Duke of Paducah Award, Sword of Bunker Hill Brookport, Ill. and Hiram's Helpers Club, Grahamville, Ky.

Lee is survived by his wife, Billye Nace Watkins of West Paducah, Ky.; two daughters, Mary Dawn Watkins of West Palm Beach, Fla., and husband King C. Brown, Dena Ann Edwards and husband, Jason, of West Paducah, Ky.; one son, Dana Lee Watkins and wife Lisa, of West Paducah, Ky.; two step-children, Sylvia Bradley and husband Bob, of West Paducah, Ky., and Tommy Lee Nace and wife, Lawanda, of Kevil, Ky.; one brother, Dowell Watkins and wife, Rachel, of Santa Maria, Calif.; two grandchildren, Cody Lee Watkins and Chelsea Watkins of West Paducah, Ky.; four step-grandchildren, Billy Bradley of Paducah, Michael Bradley and wife, Laura, of Murray, Ky., Tommy Aaron Nace of La Center, Ky., and Rodney Nace and wife, Kelly, of Kevil, Ky.; three step-great-grandchildren, Brittani Bradley and Abby Bradley, both of Murray, Ky., and Molly Lee Nace of Kevil, Ky.

Lee was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary Sue Greene Watkins; two brothers, Bill and Herbert Watkins, and his mother and father, Mary Caroline Cannon and Melvin Milton Watkins.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.
Roth Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
