Lemuel Laverne Branch, 86, of Dewey, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in Bartlesville. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church in Dewey. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Branch was born on October 3, 1926 at Caney, Kansas to John D. and Laura D. (King) Branch. He was raised and received his education at Caney where he completed his education. He was married to Mary Roney at Garden City, Kansas, and they made their home in Caney area until Mr. Branch moved to the Dewey area in 1979. He was later married to Doris Barbour in 1980 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Dewey area where Mr. Branch was employed as a Street department worker for the City of Bartlesville. Mrs. Branch preceded him in deah in 1992. Following his retirement in 1993 he continued to make his home in Dewey where he was a member of the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church. He also enjoyed singing, wood woking and tinkering-building and making things for his grandchildren, being outdoors, and taking care of his dogs and birds.

Mr. Branch is survived by one daughter, Lois A. Mills and her husband Dwight of Sand Springs, Oklhaoma, by a son Anthony Branch of Cleveland, Oklahoma and by a step daughter Mrs. Vickie Duff of Afton, Oklahoma, by two brothers: Marion Branch of Prescott, Arizona, and Edward Branch of Plainville, Kansas and by a sister Letha Harris of Neosho, Missouri, by two grandchildren Shane Mullins and Jessica Mills, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Doris he was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Laura D. Branch, by two brothers, Melvin and George Branch, by two half brothers Leslie and Claude Dunn, and his step daughter Linda Lacy.
