Ransom - Peabody

The wedding of Charles Cook Ransom, a son of Mrs. Charles Cook Ransom and the late Dr. Ransom, and Miss Emma Peabody, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Peabody, postponed from April 17 owing to the severe illness of the bride-to-be, took place yesterday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, 30 East Fifty-fourth Street, instead of the Church of the Heavenly Rest as first planned. The house was fragrant and gay with Spring flowers, and the Rev. Herbert Shipman, rector of the Church of the Heavenly Rest, performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a white satin gown embroidered in pearls and having a train of satin, the gown being draped with old point lace. Her lace veil was held with a diamond bandeau, the gift of her mother. She carried a fan-shaped bouquet of clusters of lilies of the valley and white orchids, in which a ring, a thimble, a bachelor button and a penny were concealed, and when she flung the bouquet to her attendants after the ceremony four of the girls received the trinkets.

Mrs. John Alden Talbot was her sister's matron of honor and Mrs. Horatio Leslie Hotchkiss, 3d, Mrs. Matthew Comstock Jenkins, and the Misses Elsie Morrill, Josephine Flood, Virginia Sterry, Kathryn Tefft Slayback, Dorothea Kavanagh and Gladys Armstrong were the other attendants, all in orange colored chiffon, veiled with brown tulle, and picture hats to match. All carried spring flowers.
