BOYLE, Leo D. - Age 84, of Keizer, passed away December 22, 1997. He was born October 6, 1913 in Roseburg, Oregon. In May of 1944 he married Winifred Louise Hawkins. He was a member of the 101st Paratroop Infantry, Company E. He served in Holland as well as participating in the D-day invasion of Normandy.

Mr. Boyle graduated from the University of Oregon in 1952. He taught high school in Salem from 1958-1960; Roseburg from 1964-1968; Dallas from 1960-1980 and retired as the special education director at Central School District in 1979. He also ran and organized the summer migrant school in mid-1960's. He moved to Keizer in 1980.

Mr Boyle was an avid fly fisherman and gardener. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa, the 101st Airborne Assoc. and the Polk Association for Retarded Citizens. He is survived by his son Christopher Boyle of South Beach, Oregon. His wife Winifred preceded him in death in January 1996.

Visitation will be Monday, December 29 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Restlawn Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to Polk Assoc. for Retarded Citizens or the Wilcol Parkinson's Society. Restlawn funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
