Leo J. Hofman, 72, of 793 S. Main St. died Friday, May 14, at Grace Hospital in Detroit.

Funeral services were held at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Lapeer with Rev. Charles Goentges officiating. Burial was in Mount Loretto Cemetery. Rosary devotions were recited at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Hofman was born August 24, 1903, in Albany, Minn., the son of Joseph and Anna E. Hofman, and was married to Ruth Irene Hartman. He owned and operated the Hofman Shoe Store in Lapeer from 1932 to 1972.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; two sons, Leo Jr. of Brooksville, Md. and John of Lapeer; a daughter, Mrs. Robert [Grace] Rudy of Troy, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren, three brothers, Rudolph, Bert and Andrew and a sister, Mrs. Sophia Lenarz.
