Leo Wicka, 78, died Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Wabasha. A retired farmer, he had been ill the past few years and had suffered a heart attack 10 days ago. He had been a resident of a rest home at Wabasha 11 months. He was born July 13, 1885, to the late Paul and Mary (Bambenek) Wicka at Dodge. He married Clementine Malszycki at Sacred Heart Church, Pine Creek, Feb. 2, 1910. Survivors are; His wife, three-daughters, Mrs. Martin (Eleanor) Peplinski, Winona; Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Schank, Independence, and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Haney, Fountain City; five sons, Henry, Edwin and Norbert, Fountain City; Robert. Independence, and Eugene, San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Jacob, Winona; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Polly) Malchow and Mrs. Jack (Vina) Kremer, both of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Mary Bambenek, Winona; 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are tentatively planned for Thursday. Colby-Haines Funeral Home here is in charge.
