Leon Christo Clur (1963 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Leon (50), was executed, shot in the head, at his house in Blackwood Street, Hectorspruit, MP, while outside having a braai (barbeque) on 2nd February 2014.

His wife, Marli told the two attackers they could take whatever they wanted. They took her inside and demanded the keys to the safe. Once the perpetrators had left, Marli pushed the panic button. Securicon reaction unit responded, and their ambulance service rushed Leon to Mediclinic Nelspruit where he was declared brain dead the following morning at 09h00.

  • Justice was served six hours after the attack on the Clur's, when the police’s Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit, accompanied WO Jacques Nel and farmers, Mr Nico Nel, Mr Riaan Lombaard and Mr Frans Ment, went on a manhunt for the perpetrators. Ernesto Silawule, and his accomplice were approached by the group next to a railway line under a bridge at the Marloth Park crossing. WO Nel ordered them to stop, one of them pointed their firearm at Nel and the farmers, who reacted and shot both perpetrators dead. They found the Clur’s shotgun in Silawule's possession.
