They were the owners of the award-winning restaurant The Artist's Café, at the disused Hendriksdal Railway Station near Sabie.
Two women who worked for the couple were among seven suspects arrested in connection with the double murder.
According to Captain Leonard Hlathi, police spokesperson for commissioner Rex Machabi, the two, aged 33 and 36, allegedly conspired with five male suspects to kill them.
