I first met "lefty" when i moved to Florida and got to know him before he died. He would come down and we would go fishing.. I got to see his boxing photo's and such when we went up to vist him.. when he passed on i went up and helped with his arrangements, (part of his ashes were placed in the Indian river) a favorite spot he liked to fish.. when ever i pass the place i always say "hiya Lefty".. for yrs there was a wooden dock and he even carved me out a place to rest my poles.. it was a sad day when they replaced the wood with metal poles.. *le sigh life goes on ( by Betty Reed Atchison)
