Son of Leonard Webber and Charity Hartnoll. Listed in the parish burial register as "Lyonard Webber." Brother of William Webber of west Bagborough; Thomas Webber, Grocer of St Giles in the Fields, London, then Richmond, Surrey (died 6 March 1778); James Webber; and Mary Webber Adams. His brother Thomas's Will also lists a niece Mary Asford. Married to Patience and father of: James, Elizabeth, Thomas, John and William. May have married secondly to Elizabeth Coombs in 1780. Left residual property to Edith Coombs, single woman who lived with him at the time of his death about 5 May 1791.

LEONARD WEBBER
This is the last Will and testament of me Leonard Webber of Creech Saint Michael in the County of Somerset Yeoman ffirst I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Hannah Tattle lately called Hannah Webber Daughter of my son James Webber the mortgage security from John Hey of Creech Saint Michael aforesaid Yeoman with the bond therewith given as a collateral security for sixty pounds and [?] together with the Lands charges for payment thereof to hold to her of her heirs executors administrators and assignes and I so order and direct my Executrix hereinafter named to deliver the said Mortgage and Bond and all the goods relating to the Title of the said premises to her the said Hannah so soon after my interment as she shall demand the same But my Will is that my said Executrix shall have and be entitled to the Interest thereof to the day of my death Also I give to my Godson William Truax and to Susanna Truax son and and Daughter of William Truax late of Thorne ffawlcon [Thornfalcon] in the said County Yeoman deceased the Summ of ffive pounds each to be paid them respectively by my said Executrix at the Age of Twenty one Years But if either of them shall happen to die before the said age of twenty one then my Will is that the Legacy of him or her so dying shall be paid to the survivor of them at the said age of twenty one But if both of them shall happen to die before the same shall become payable my Will in that Case is that the whole Ten pounds shall elapse and go to the Benefit of my said Executrix Also I give and bequeath to my Grandson and Grand Daughter William and Betty Webber Son and Daughter of my Son John Webber the Sum of ffive pounds each to be paid them respectively at the Age of twenty one years But if either of them shall die before the said Age of twenty one my Will is that the Legacy of him or her the said William or Betty Webber so dying shall be paid to the survivor of them at the said age of twenty one But if both of them die before the attainment of their said ages of twenty and then my Will is that the said Legacies shall elaps[e] and go to the Benefit of my said Executrix I give unto my two Sons William Webber and John Webber the sum of fforty pounds each to be paid them respectively by my said Executrix within six months next after my death I give and bequeath unto my Brother William Webber of Westbagborough in the said County yeoman and to my nephew James Webber of Corfe in the said County Yeoman the Capital Stock of six hundred pounds which I now have in the three per cent consolidated Bank Annuities In Trust that they and the survivor of them his Executors and Administrators do and shall from time to time after my death pay and apply the Interest Dividends and profits pf the said six hundred pounds unto my said Sons William Webber and John Webber equally between them during their joint Lives to and for their sole use and from and after the death of either of them Then In trust that they the said William Webber and James Webber and the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall pay and apply the Interest Dividends and profits of the said Six hundred pounds unto the survivor of my said Sons for and during his natural Life to and for his own use and Benefit and from and after his death In Trust to pay assign and transfer the said six hundred pounds and the Interest dividends and profits thereof from and after such the death of the survivor of my said sons unto and amongst all and every the child or children of my said Sons William and John lawfully begotten that shall be living at such the time of the death of the survivor of my said two sons equally between them share and share alike and if but one child shall be then living then to such Child also give unto my said Brother William Webber and my said nephew James Webber ffive pounds each as some compensation for the trouble they will have as Trustees under this my Will the same to be paid them respectively by my said Executrix in six months next after my decease I give to every poor labouring man of Creech Saint Michael aforesaid one shilling each and to every Widow woman of the same place two shillings and six pence each to be paid them respectively by my said Executrix in one month next after my Burial or provided always and my Will is that my said Trustees
their Executors and Administrators shall not be answerable or accountable the one for the other of them or the one for the [] Receipts or payments of the other of them but each for his own [] Receipts and Payments only nor for any Loss that may happen of any of the said Trust [] unless the same shall happen through his or their wilful act or default and that it shall be lawful for my said Trustees and the survivor of them his Executors and Administrators in the first place to deduct and reimburse him and themselves out of my said Trust Estate and effects all such costs losses charges damages and expenses as be they or any or either of them shall or may bear pay sustain or be put unto for or by reason or means of the Trusts hereby reposed in them or any wise relating thereunto And lastly all the rest and residue of my Lands Tenements Goods Chattels Real and personal Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever I give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto Edith Coombes of Creech Saint Michael aforesaid Single woman now living with me her heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever and I appoint the said Edith Coombes Executrix hereof In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper set my hand to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this last this twelfth day of March in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety one ~

This Will was proved at London the first day of June in the Year of Our Lord On thousand seven hundred and ninety one before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Edithe Coombes Spinster the sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased having been first sworn by commission duly to administer.
