Leonard A. Wiedmier, age 84, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014, at his home. Leonard was born, raised, and lived his entire life within one mile of his birthplace.

Leonard was born the son of Jewell Gillie and Violet Hamblin Wiedmier on August 13, 1929, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1947 graduate of Braymer High School. He was united in marriage to Patricia Brandt on August 5, 1980, in Boulder, Montana. She survives of the home. Leonard was a member of the Proctorville United Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri. He sold DeKalb Seed Corn for 35 years. He loved bowling, and was the biggest winner on the Bowlin' with Molen Show. Leonard was a regular participant in the Petersen Classic Bowling Tournament, and on the Bowling for Dollars TV show with Fred Broski. He was on the Braymer Fire Board for many years, and served as secretary in the 1980's. He helped get the grant for the Grasshopper Fire Truck, and was also a supporter of the Braymer Livestock Show for many years. 

Leonard received the Braymer High School Top Recruiter Award in 1988. He ran the Braymer Football Chain Gang for many years until 1987. Leonard was a faithful supporter of the Braymer High School Athletics. He is remembered carrying his brief case and wearing his cowboy boots to the games. The Braymer Alumni Association honored Leonard as the 2013 Homecoming Grand Marshal. 

Survivors include his wife, Pat of the home; two sons, Stephen Wiedmier of Braymer, Missouri, and David Wiedmier of Hamilton, Missouri; two daughters, Debra Clevenger and husband Joe of Hamilton, Missouri, and Susan Bridges and husband Jim of Kansas City, Missouri; thirty-four grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; six stepdaughters, Debbie Spohr and husband Paul of Braymer, Missouri, Mary Abrahams of Billings, Montana, Beth Koch and husband Jeff of Missoula, Montana, Theresa Dalton and husband Jeff of Hamilton, Missouri, Cathy Bonderer and husband Marshall of Cameron, Missouri, Christine Owen and husband Mike of Braymer, Missouri; three stepsons, Joe Brandt and wife Mary Lou of Kearney, Missouri, John Brandt and wife Bethany of Florissant, Missouri, and Patrick Brandt of Grass Valley, California; three brothers, Myron Joe Wiedmier of Taylor, Texas, Jewell Wiedmier of Braymer, Missouri, and Jerald Wiedmier of Braymer, Missouri; and one sister, Lois Null of Denver, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter-in-law, Vicki Wiedmier; one stepson, William Brandt; and one infant brother, Lawrence Wiedmier.
