Death of a Good Man.
Mr. Leander Baucom died at his home in New Salem township at noon Wednesday, May 20th. He had been sick for a long time and had been unable to work for months. The remains were buried at Crooked Creek church yesterday, funeral being held by Elder W. T. Broadway. Mr. Baucom is survived by his wife and eight children, four sons and four daughters. Also by three brothers, Messrs. James L. Baucom, Thomas Baucom and M. S. Baucom, and two sisters, Mrs. A. B. Edwards and Mrs. W. M. Pusser. Mr. Baucom was about fifty years old. He was not a member of the church but believed faithfully in the Primitive belief, and was a good man, honest and fair in his dealings.
