Remark: In priciple, they even could have been first degree cousins. The WELNER genealogy on the Krakow family trees on website of Dan Hirschberg (http://www.ics.uci.edu/%7Edan/genealogy/Krakow/Families/Mandelberg....) shows an example: 1914 (banns, #133) / 1916 (#214) married to cousins:
Mojzesz Dawid PERLMAN, son of Malka, née WELNER, married Chaje Reisel WELNER, daughter of Aron Jozef WELNER. Malka and Aron had the same mother and father, the same as Milka WELNER, mother of Natan SILBERZWEIG.
