Lessie May Griffith

John Riley and Lessie met at a 4-H club meeting at Lashmeet; 2 story schoolhouse. John Riley threw rocks at window and Lessie, 12 years old, threw it back. John Riley told his mother that night that he had met the girl he was going to marry. John Riley asked Mr. Wright to take the 4-H project to his house so they could work on it and he could see Lessie. He said of course. He did not tell her daddy that part.

John Riley and Lessie had a wreck in the buggy when they were dating.

John Riley and Lessie were married May 10, 1919. They were married at home and she wore Navy blue suit and high heel pumps.

They lived with John Riley's parents.

Moved in the house on Valleyview in 1921.

Lessie's favorite thing to do when she was a little girl was to put a piece of wood through the fence and see-saw.
