The following was taken from the Nov. 12, 1934 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
Reedy Branch community was greatly shocked at the death of Miss Lessie Mae Jacobs who died of heart trouble Nov. 6 about 7 p.m. She was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Jacobs. Her mother died 13 months ago.
Miss Jacobs was near 17. She was a young girl of a very fine character, loyal and obedient.
Rev. C. E. Locklear, paid high tribute of respect to her life and home. Her body was laid to rest under a mound of beautiful flowers in Reedy Branch cemetery. The pallbearers were: Vardell Miller, Arlin Locklear, Grady Chavis, Marvin, Tessie and James P. Hunt. Flower girls were: Misses Pauline, Ida Christine, Artie Mae Hunt, Wilma Graham, Martha Oxendine, Lurena Haggins. Both the pallbearers and flower girls wer her classmates.
