[Lester R. Atkinson died on Saturday, May 9 after an illness of several weeks in a Detroit hospital. The burial was in Richland cemetery following a short service at the home of his stepfather and his mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Piffer on Tuesday afternoon. Many friends and relatives were present from a great distance. Mr. Atkinson was born forty seven years ago in Riverdale and spent most of his life in Toledo and Detroit. Besides his mother of Vestaburg, his widow in Detroit, there remain three children, Mrs. Alice Jens of Napoleon, Ohio and Othel and Kenneth of Detroit.]
