<p>Levi Capper was the first known Licencee of the Shepherd's View Inn, 10 Church Street, Barnton. The inn opened as a beer house c.1850. In 1861 it was known as the "View". It was rebuilt in the late1880's with other additions being made in 1896. By 1891 it belonged to Greenhalls. It closed in 1967. Levi Capper 1857 -1871 Mary Capper 1871. [The Licencees of the Public Houses of Vale Royal - A.J.MacGregor.] The Burial Register for Christ Church, Barnton reports that Levi died when he was " Shipwrecked and drowned at the mouth of the River Dee".

<p>Ancestry has his probate being granted on 25 Sep 1871 to his son and only next of Kin George Capper.</p>
