

Lewis Corder Anthony (1785-1861) served in the War of 1812 in TN. He was a member of the 2nd Regiment of Tennessee Volunteer Mounted Riflemen commanded by Col John Coffee. HIs official dates of service were 15 Nov 1812 to 12 Mar 1814. The troop joined Andrew Jackson at Natchez Mississippi in Feb 1813, but apparently saw no combat. Lewis Anthony was given two land grants based on his service, one in Missouri in 1851 and one in Arkansas in 1856.
There is an 1858 photo of Lewis Anthony on ancientfaces.com posted in 2002 by Gwen Nolte, a descendant of Lewis Anthony thru Elizabeth Anthony/4th Husband Williams Cummins thru their son William Anthony Cummins of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
For information, his daughter Elizabeth Pembrook (Pembrooke) Anthony was married four times.
m1 to Abraham Smith (1813-1839), married 9 May 1837, Boone County, MO. Children: Hamilton Henry Smith (b 1838) and Palina Smith (b 1839).
m2 to Francis Sharp, married 18 May 1841, Boone County MO. They had four children together: Manerva Sharp (1842?), George Washington Sharp (1847?), Ann Elizabeth Sharp (1848?), and Susan Jane Sharp (1851?). The marriage was rocky and Sharp was often drunk, violent and abusive. Elizabeth divorced Francis Sharp in Clay County MO, final 18 Aug 1852. Divorce records on file at Clay County MO. Sharp was later murdered in Clay County in 1864.
m3 to Daniel King, married 20 Jan 1853, Clay County MO. Mr. King died shortly thereafter in Nov-Ded 1853. He had at least one son named Martin by a previous marriage.
m4 to William Cummins, married 24 Jun 1855 in Arkansas. They had one son, William Anthony Cummins, b 20 Aug 1856,at Washington County AR, d 1930s Tulsa OK. Elizabeth Anthony died Aug 1856 in childbirth. William Cummins (senior) was born in England and died in 1864 in Arkansas, shot by marauders during the Civil War.
