[Editor's note - The "MD" as place of birth for Louisa might be "MO", bu t if so, then why did the census taker write "MO" next to Thomas, then us e ditto marks for the remaining children? If he meant "MO" for Louisa, th e normal thing to have done would be to use ditto marks for all the child ren.]
