About Lilly Brown
Dr. William Lamers writes:
"I did not know your grandfather, Nicholas Murray, but I did know Lily Brown ["Aunt Lily," my mother called her]. I believe she lived in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Aunt Lily was a charming lady with impeccable manners and speech. As a young boy I was impressed with the amount of strong-tasting tea she drank."
As related by Madeleine Maguire:
"Aunt Lily was visiting Nick / Kitty one summer on holiday and told this story. When in 5th grade she was given an assignment to write about Queen Victoria. Her parents had emigrated from Scotland so she approached her dad for information. "I can tell you about Queen Victoria and it won't take 5o words , she was a S.O.B."
