Seventy-three old Lloyd Erickson died Sunday at the Barron Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Barron with Revs. James Sjolie and Chaitram Prashad officiating. Burial will take place at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rausch-Rockman Funeral Home in Barron and for an hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Erickson was born May 24, 1921 in the Town of Maple Grove. On Sept. 25, 1946 he married Lucille Graf. He worked for Lloyd Huset on a milk route as a young man and later purchased his own milk route, which he owned and operated until 1952. He then began farming until his retirement in 1975. He was an artificial inseminator in the area for many years, retiring from that business in 1965. He was in the U.S. Air Force and served during WW II. He was also a very active member of the Barron VFW, the Barron American Legion and the Rice Lake Moose Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Barron; two daughters, Lynne Sundquist of Tomahawk and Lorri Odash of Hillsdale; two brothers, Lawrence of Hillsdale and Lester of Barron; one sister, Ella Folz of Barron; and five grandchildren.

Lloyd was a cousin, very dear friend, and partner in trouble with John "Tony" Johnson. Lloyd's daughter, Lynn, was maid-of-honor in Tony's daughter's, Vicky"s, wedding to Richard Knutson in Colfax, Wisconsin, July 9, 1966.

Lloyd was a U.S. war veteran who served as S. Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

In their retirement, Lloyd and Lucille loved smowmobiling and would join friends for week-end snowmobiling travels in northern Wisconsin.
