About Lloyd K. Long
The above photo was found on Family Search.org depicting Walter and Ada Long and their two sons, Walter E. Long in back and Lloyd K. Long in front. This photo was probably taken in about 1929. Lloyd K. Long wrote a 216-page book entitled "Pioche, Nevada, and Early Mining Developments in Eastern Nevada." The book was published by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 1975. He was a lifelong Nevada resident, known as "K" by family and friends, and was a Clark County School District teacher and a World War II Army veteran. He was survived by his wife, Marianne; two daughters, Suzanne Foster of Layton, Utah, and Marybeth Long of Las Vegas; four sons, Laurence Long and Kenneth Long, both of Las Vegas, Merrill Long of Clearwater, Florida, and Douglas Long of Cedar City, Utah; one brother, Walter E. Long of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ada Vee Medlin of Farmington, Utah, and Shelley Beckstrand of Long Beach, California, and nine grandchildren.
