Saturday March 18, friends and relatives number eighty-nine gathered at the home of Lloyd WRIGHT to celebrate his eighty-seventh birthday. Uncle Lloyd, as he is familiarly known, was born in Virginia 1814, came to Indiana over fifty years ago, when it was inhabited by deer, bear, turkey and many other wild games. The writer failed to get accurate dates of his coming to this country, also dates of his marriages. He was married first to Elizabeth CLARK and they lived happily together for eight years, when she left this earth to enter that home where happiness reigns forever. To this union was born six children, three of them are living and three of them have joined their mother. Uncle Lloyd being left with several small children, and much in need of a help-mate was in a short time married again, this time to Nancy MEEKS. To this union was born twelve children. She was stricken with that dreaded disease consumption and medical aid failing her spirit returned to God who gave it. Uncle Lloyd was advanced in years and feeling the he need a companion to comfort him in his old days, was in a short time married again to Sarah GEE his present wife, although he is eighty-seven years old he can jump up and crack his feet together and informed the crowd that he could throw the best man there. The noon hour arriving, two large table were prepared and almost everything that one could wish for was placed on it to eat. After all had satisfied their hunger, the afternoon was spent in singing and listening to stories of Mr. Wright's young life. He is the father of eighteen children, has eighty-eight grandchildren, sixty-three great-grandchildren.

We would love to give a fuller biography of Mr. Wright but only being acquainted with him for a few years, without the aid of others who know more about his life we are unable to do so. We can say to our personal knowledge the few years we have known him, that he has been an honest, upright citizen, respected by all who know him. The crow returned to their homes feeling that the day had been an enjoyable one and wishing him many more such happy birthdays. M. M. A.

Uncle Lloyd WRIGHT of near here, died last Friday. He was 93 years old.

Lloyd Wright and Joshua Wright. First they are cousins.

Lloyd Wright is the son of Dr. Harrison Wright

and

Joshua Wright is the son of James Wright.

Dr. Harrison Wright and James Wright are brothers

and their father was Joshua Wright.

Interesting civil war fact Lloyd his brother David and brother Zachariah, all fought for the CSA 20th Virginia. David was captured in Dec 1863 and died in the rock island prison June 15 1864. The interesting fact is that the boys father Dr. Harrison joined the WV 6th vol on the union side.

The question is why did the boys and their father go for different sides. It is speculated that either Harrison joined the union for his services as a Doctor to lesson the punishment of his sons or because he was captured and forced to fight for the union because of him being a Doctor.

So Lloyd Wrights father was Dr. Harrison Wright and Elizabeth Clevenger Wright

and his father was Joshua Wright and Susan Carroll Wright

and his Father was William Wright and Elizabeth Lloyd Thompson Wright.

His parents and three oldest siblings were recorded in the 1810 census in Fauquier County, VA. From the birthplaces that he and his siblings later gave, 1815 is figured to be the year that the family moved to Pike Township in Coshocton County, OH. What a journey that must have been with five children! But there were quite a number of other families who made the journey about the same time.

By 1820 there were seven children in the family, and by 1830, eleven still at home.

In 1840 he and his four surviving children (two boys under age five, one girl under age five, and one girl age 5-10) lived on a farm in Virginia Township, Coshocton County, OH. He remarried not long after his first wife died. But his daughters from his first marriage didn't survive the decade.

In 1850 he and Nancy and his eight children--two from his first marriage and their six--lived on a farm in Jackson Township, Greene County, IN.

In 1860 he and his wife and twelve of his children--all but Alexander--lived there on the farm.

In 1870 he and Nancy and eight children lived there.

In 1880 he and his third wife and his youngest son and his wife lived there.

In 1900 he and Sarah lived there. Sarah stated she had had three children, with just two then living.
