About Lodgie Rock
Grandpa Rock has been the most influential person in my life. He retired the year before i was born, in 1973, and he chose to dedicate his retirement to his family. As a youth I spent countless hours with my Grandpa. His interests were animals, especially dogs, ponies, and birds. He had many pets throughout his life, Crows, whose name was always billy, red roosters, who were always known as Freddie. His favorite ponies were named Blackie, Snowball and Patch who was an appaloosa. My grandpa made growning up fun. He built an inground pool with his bare hands, that provided the family with many days of family fellowship.
He was known as a very generous man. He was always offering to give us a $20. Interesting enough he grew up during the Great depression, and had to enter the workforce at a young age because Poppy Rock was injured in the coal mine. He had to go to work to support the family. He retired in 1973 with 37 years in the coal mines. Thank God, he was able to enjoy his retirement. I miss him dearly.
Love you Grandpa, your the best.
