Lois Clark Wanamaker passed away peacefully October 25th, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born to Clem and Ireta Clark on Jan. 8, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho.
She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1960. In 1962, she moved to Hawthorne, California. She received BA and MA degrees from California State University at Long Beach. Lois was employed at Northrop Corporation for 28 years, holding positions as Cost Estimator, Senior Pricing Analyst, and Estimating Specialist. She was Project Engineer and Lead person for her department when she elected early retirement in 1994.
While working at Northrop, she met Merle M. Coons, Colonel USAF (Retired) whom she married. They lived in Fountain Valley, California from 1972 to 1994, before they moved to Pocatello Idaho. Colonel Coons died in 1997.Lois moved to Surprise, Arizona in 2000. There she became reacquainted with a former Northrop coworker, Paul Wanamaker, and in him found a loving soul mate, protector and best friend. They were married in 2002 and made their home in Sun City West, Arizona.
She is survived by her husband Paul N. Wanamaker, sister Lorraine Mitton, brothers, Richard (Barb) Clark, Neil Clark, Keith (Cora) Clark, and stepdaughter Amanda (Brian) Lear. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sun City Elks Lodge at 10760 W. Union Hills Dr. on Nov. 8th at 10:00 AM.
There are two memorials for MERLE M. COONS #43060123, Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, Idaho and #64602313, Douglas Pioneer Cemetery, Troutdale, Oregon. Both of these memorials have headstone photos attached.
