Lonita Rosalie Braundmeier, nee Ernst, 91, of Highland, Ill., formerly of Edwardsville and New Douglas, born Dec. 22, 1921, in Bond County, Ill., died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.
Lonita was a retired computer data clerk for the Illinois Department of Public Aid in Edwardsville and Granite City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Douglas, Ill., for 89 years and Hope Lutheran Church in Highland for two and a half years. She also was a member of the Madison County Genealogical Society. She enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, making quilts, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur John Braundmeier, whom she married on Jan. 14, 1940, and who died Aug. 20, 1995; her parents, Albert George and Mathilda, nee Boehme, Ernst; a son, Robert Paul Braundmeier; a grandson, Ralph Hartke, Jr.; a granddaughter, Jessica Barker; two brothers, Albert Ernst, Jr., and Vernon (Irma) Ernst; and a sister, Irma Ernst (Myhrel) Clayton.
Surviving are her son, Arthur John (Dama Lea Kottmeyer) Braundmeier, Jr.; four daughters, Beverly Ann (Ralph) Hartke, Carma Lee (David) Norman, Connie Marie (Craig) Leinicke, and Diane Ruth (Rooney) Barker; grandchildren, Julia Hartke (Tobin) Knudsen, Arthur (Karen) Braundmeier, III, Matthew (Heather) Braundmeier, Andrea (Ryan) Braundmeier Fleming, Brian (Sevgi) Norman, Karen (John Vaught) Norman Gentry, Christina, Carrie and Catherine Leinicke, Janae Barker, Dane (Joanna) Barker, and Lauren Barker; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Kennan Hartke, Zachary and Riley Knudsen, Logan, Abigail, Reed, Aaron, and Aubrey Braundmeier, Andrew, Morgan, and William Fleming, Melissa, Aleyna, and Emre Norman, and Jackson Barker; a brother, John (Juanita) Ernst; two sisters, Marie Ernst (Dale) Buck and Iona Ernst (Irvin) Kline; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ernst.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, Ill.
Funeral: Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Leonard Laetsch officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, Ill.
