Lora Darline Merwin

Obituary: There is a special angel in heaven. Mrs. Lora Darline Merwin 83, of La Junta went home to be with Jesus on May 6, 1999 at 3:50 p.m. She was a precious example of a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Darline was born in Holcomb, Kansas on December 11, 1915 to Byron and Blanche Roberts. She married Clarence E Merwin on December 14, 1933 in Syracuse, KS. They moved to La Junta in 1952. They were happily married for 35 years before he passed away in 1969.

Mrs. Merwin was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene since 1941. She retired from J C Penny's after 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include sons Roger Paul Merwin, Kenny (Marie) Merwin, Dwight (Char) Merwin and daughters LaRue (Fred) Hare, and Sue (Dennis) Pearsall, twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
