About Lot .
- Genesis 11:26-32 - Birth of Lot, death of his father.
- Genesis 12 - Lot goes to Canaan with Abraham, and then down to Egypt.
- Genesis 13 - Lot and Abraham separate. Lot moves to Sodom.
- Genesis 19 - Lot is rescued from destruction of Sodom. Is seduced by his two daughters, and fathers two sons by them.
Lot was the son of Patriarch Abraham's youngest brother Haran. When Haran died prematurely ("in the life of his father"), it was Abraham that raised Lot.
It is written that when Abraham argued with G-d to save the sinful cities for the sake of even ten righteous persons, Whilst fleeing Sodom Lot's wife was "turned into a pillar of salt", as she turned to look back at Sodom. .
